GXPing

GXPing icon   GuruxPing offers an easy way to detect, if a remote computer is reachable.

Utilize the information of the state, and other statistics of the latest ping operation.

About pinging, in general

  • A successful pinging indicates only that the remote host can be reached on the network.
  • The presence and configuration of proxies, Network address translation (NAT) equipment, or firewalls, may prevent pinging.

Before using GXPing component

You must set at least the HostName property, by entering the IP address of the host.

It is strongly recommended, to set the following properties too:

  • TimeOut: the time, in milliseconds, to wait for the ping to succeed, before it is considered to have failed
  • Count: the amount of times the host is pinged, zero meaning endless pinging
  • Delay: the interval, in milliseconds, between sent pings
