GXTerminal icon   GuruxTerminal offers an effective and easy way to send data using Terminal connection.

Notifications of errors, media state changes, received data, and client connected, and disconnected, give you ways and means to utilize triggered events. Build-in, resettable counters, for sent and received bytes, make it easy to follow up the traffic. You can set the component to send data synchronously or asynchronously, and search for ports, where modems, capable of sending or receiving SMS, are found. You can also initialize AT commands, sent to the modem, when connecting, to set the modem work in a required way.

Before using GXTerminal

You need to set at least following properties:

  • Port
  • BitRate
  • FlowControl
  • PhoneNumber

For information about additional settings, contact your Device Manufacturer.

Port is set by selecting the name of the serial port to use in communication, by default it is COM1. Bit rate is set by selecting the amount of bits per second, by default 9600, and flow control can be set to either disabled, software, or hardware. The phone number is set by entering the number to communicate with. All the obligatory properties are collected to be set in an easy-to-use dialog. That is a simple and secure way to assure all is set, when starting to use the component.

Notifications
When using GXTerminal component, always listen to OnError event, as all errors that occur after the connection is established, are sent through it.
Received data is received through OnReceived event.

Using the GuruxTerminal component with different development tools, such as Access, Delphi, Visual Basic, Java ,Visual C++, c# (csharp), VB.NET (Visual Basic.NET) and Managed C++ is very easy. With the component you get a Visual Basic sample that shows how to use the communication technique. Gurux communication medias have been made on the Windows API interface. Due to this, the components are very efficient and do not require external libraries or DLL files to operate.
